About the Event

Join Owen Taylor, co-founder of Truelove Seeds, as he describes how decades of work within the food justice movement led to the creation of a seed company focused on mentoring farmers in producing culturally important seed crops to share with their diasporas. Truelove Seeds are grown by more than 50 small-scale urban and rural farmers committed to community food sovereignty, cultural preservation, and sustainable agriculture. We share our profits directly with our growers: 50% of each packet sale goes back to the farmer who grew it. In this workshop, Owen will share various ways Truelove attempts to embody the values of racial and economic justice, cultural reconnection, and growing high quality seeds.
